Can someone give me a start on JDM Cars?

So.. my dad was planning on getting me a 300zx . But theres one problem, I know nothing about cars or JDM parts , any of that. I wanna know more about JDM, engines, what an interior, exterior is. The different types of rims, brakes, steering wheels. The only thing i know about cars are the names of them. Some of my friends were talking about a V-tech engine? And a killswitch. I wanna know what the good stuff are to put in my car.|||It just takes some researching, try looking at some cars on http://www.cardomain.com

I take it from your questions you are young, probably around 16, and wanting your first car to be something that gets you props from the boys, and looks from the girls. Well, I can't tell you everything I know about cars. So I'll try helping you out with the questions you have at hand. 300zx, very nice cars, very sexy in the 1990 and higher models, If your getting a "Z" then you will want a coupe and not a 2+2. (that just means it has a rear seat)

JDM was answered correctly earlier, Japanese Domestic Market.

The mother of all Nissan's, is the Skyline GTR (at least in the tuner world)

An interior is the inside of the vehicle, aka: where you sit.

Exterior is all things pertaining to the outside of the vehicle.

There are way to many aftermarket, wheels (rims) to mention, go to a good tire shop and they can help you out in that area.

Brakes also vary, you have your usual stock (crap) brakes, and they get wilder from there with stainless steel wrapped hoses, 6 piston calipers, drilled and slotted rotors. Pick up an import tuner magazine at Wal-Mart, you'll learn a lot of the answers to your questions.

Steering wheels are also too many to list, you have stock (stock is anything that comes with the vehicle from the factory), the ones that have the cruise control built in, (cruise control is a device that holds the gas pedal so the car drives at a set speed, the speed is set by the driver.) And then there are Aftermarket Steering wheels, (Aftermarket, is a product made After the car leaves the factory, usually made by outside companies other than the dealer.)

As for the good stuff to put on you car... That you have to find out for yourself... You have to ask yourself what you want to use the car for? Do you want it to just get you back and forth from work or school? In that case I would just make sure it runs and is safe to drive.

do you want to win trophies with it? If so then you have to find out what you want to win trophies for... Paint, Sound system, performance, speed... All of this has to be found out by you... Do some monkeying around on the internet someday, and look for that stuff, you'll learn fast.|||JDM simply stands for Japanese Domestic Market. It's more of a gentlemen's agreement wherein all of their automobiles must not exceed 300 horses.

But Japanese high-performance cars have numerous ways to get over this . . . the AFTER SALES way. Like for example the Nissan GTR. It is the world's most "tunable" car. Lots of aftermarket parts %26amp; steroids for its engine. It can go as high as 500+ horses!|||Get off Yahoo answer and google.
