I have a 1984 Mercedes Benz 300SD and i was hoping to put in a jdm engine. Maybe one like a skyline engine. Would this work out? WOuld there be any extra hassles or extra work needed to be done?|||You'd have to get custom engine mounts made, and then there is the problem of mating it to the transmission. On top of that, there is the small problem of getting the ignition system to work, and a whole host of other problems that I can't think of at the moment.|||For a LOT less $$$$$, just buy a new Mercedes Benz AMG
The older diesel Mercedes Benz are in demand for veggie conversions, the turbo charged ones especially.|||Do it!!|||"WOuld there be any extra hassles or extra work needed to be done?"
YES! Almost everything would need to customized to make a Nissan engine fit into a Benz chassis.|||Please let me smash your face... and I mean that in the politest way possible. Its just a retarded idea. These cars are heavy and most of the older models are not performance oriented at all. There will be a lot of hassle/custom work involved. What is wrong with the engine you have now?
